CREATING LASTING WAVES
THINGS YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO HELP
There are SO many ways that you can make small changes to your lifestyle and home to lessen your environmental impact. They might seem simple, but your small ripples create big waves globally!
- Although recycling is great, try to first reduce your plastic consumption - if there's a way to not purchase plastic at all, it is means less plastic in the supply chain.
- When you're out and about, if you see litter - don't walk past. If safe to do so, pick it up and pop it in a bin. You could team up with members of your community and organise a team clean-up!
- Call your utility provider and ask for Green Power - the cost of constructing renewable energy sources like wind, solar and geothermal is decreasing, making them an economical option for your utilities.
- Lower the carbon footprint of your food by supporting local producers, and shop organically when you can. Or why not try growing your own organic garden if you have space?
- Practice sustainable fashion - buy secondhand, repair clothes instead of throwing them away, donate clothes you no longer wear, try to adopt a 'capsule wardrobe' instead of spending money on fast fashion.
